FINANCE ASSISTANT

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks for an upcoming language and cultural program based in regional governorates, providing management with financial information/reports by researching, verifying, and analyzing accounting data and ensuring bookkeeping is in order for budgets and taxes. S/He will also be responsible to support and back up the Programs Officer in all admin and procurement related tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties:
Accounting, Finance & Inventory Management
- Compile necessary data for project financial reporting
- Coordinate with the partners’ finance teams on providing monthly registration statistics and financial reports
- Verify partner’s claims and compare against approved budgets
- Process Daily Sales Orders and reconcile balances with ProClass (registration) system
- Prepare payment vouchers by verifying documentation; and requesting disbursements
- Prepare cash accounts reconciliation
- Follow up on AR and AP aging reports
- Perform periodic inventory checks and reconcile variance-if any
- Contribute to financial audits (Internal, External and Tax)
- Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions
- Prepare receipts vouchers
- Maintain financial security by following in-house internal controls
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Apply Amideast financial, accounting, and administration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); policies, and rules as specified by HQ and Regional Finance Office (RFO)
- Perform other relative task assigned by the finance manager and/or Country Director
General Duties:
- Communicate and coordinate frequently, accurately, and responsibly with Amideast’s office in Amman and program staff
- Exhibit behavior and communications that reflect Amideast’s goals of strengthening partnerships and understanding
- Follow Amideast’s standard operating procedures
- Support day to day communications among departments and partner organizations
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
- Fresh graduate to 1 year experience
- Proficiency in English is B1 (CEFR Level Alignment) and above
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Understand accounting and financial regulations
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must possess problem-solving skills
- Organization skills
- Manage time efficiently
- Able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
- Approachable and professional

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

Up to 25% business travel inside Jordan may be needed to support the Program as needed.
