BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
In vision of the strategic priorities of the division from 2022 onwards, with a focus on service provision, streamlined and agile processes and digital transformation, the CBT division is looking for a digital design lead to drive its digital design evolution and creative asset creation, overseeing digital design best practices across the division.
The incumbent will be responsible for the transformation of digital content design, driving engagement with stakeholders, audiences, and users.
As digital design ambassador for the division, this role leads the development, interpretation, and implementation of the division goals to accelerate the evolution of digital design and user engagement.
The consultant collaborates with the different scrum leads and other stakeholders to lead digital design knowledge and processes, maintaining consistency across all the CBT touchpoints, including corporate web pages, social media, video, dashboards and other digital products, creating outstanding digital assets, products and user experiences.
ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and coach the division in the creation of creative, high-impact multi-platform digital content that meets the highest quality standards.
- Take ownership and quality assure the digital deliverables to ensure that the outputs meet the needs of the 'client' and project specification and advance the division's strategy.
- Drive innovation through the use of new digital content tools and technologies throughout the division while aligning with WFP's TEC and CAM divisions' guidelines.
- Lead the delivery of creative design solutions from the initial brief, through to execution and project review.
- In collaboration with the communications team, create the visual identity of the division, in line with the WFP corporate identity.
- Overseeing the production and delivery of graphic and digital design products to ensure consistency and quality of all CBT products.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University degree in one of the following disciplines: graphic design, digital design or other related fields.
Experience:
- An exceptional design portfolio that demonstrates an excellent understanding of design principles, information design, user experience, user interface, social media content and integrated campaigns.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience working as Digital Designer:
- Proven experience of project management and digital production. Including knowledge of development processes.
- Previous experience in Team Management, Focus Group and User Tests.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expert in Digital, Graphic and Service Design. Focus on User Experience and User-centred Design.
- Video Design and Motion graphics: intermediate
- Data visualisation: Expert
- Demonstrated clear and intuitive work processes
- Proven and demonstrable experience in analysis of information and capacity to visualise and convert it in intuitive digital solutions
- Demonstrated ability to lead large design projects, from proposal to final product
Languages:
Fluency (level C) in English language required, a second official UN language is a plus.
