Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Role: Covered Card Policy Manager
Location: ADIB, HQ
Role Purpose:
The job holder is responsible for ensuring that the ADIB lending criteria for Covered Card products are in line with the budgeted specific provision targets set by the business. The job holder is also responsible that all key portfolio quality metrics are monitored on regular basis and the key business stake holders are kept informed through regular meetings. Should also support the business in meeting their revenue, new booking and ENR targets. Should also ensure that strong governance & controls are in place.
Key Accountabilities of the role

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that clear policy guidelines and frame work are in place for the Covered Card product.
  • Ensure that lending parameters are constantly refined and fine-tuned in line with the changing macro-economic conditions.
  • Responsible for tracking the mandate & scales and portfolio caps.
  • Responsible for ensuring policy guidelines are reviewed and approved on annual basis by the appropriate authority.
  • Ensure that approved delegation matrix in place and it is reviewed annually.
  • To ensure that all budgeted provision and costs targets are met, there are no breaches.
  • Ensure that the business stakeholders are regularly updated on the portfolio performance by providing update on key portfolio metrics and trends
  • Closely work with business in meeting the budgeted new booking, ENR & revenue targets.
  • Ensure that credit scoring models and tools used are constantly validated & refined.
  • To conduct champion challengers and tests to find out potential new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for preparing vintage Product Profitability models.
  • Should work with Portfolio Management team in developing IFRS9 / Scorecard models.
  • Work with underwriting team in automating the policy rules.
  • Ensure that unit has proper governance and controls in place.
  • To ensure that all policies and frameworks are in line with local regulations and compliance requirement.
  • Manage and develop the team members.
  • Robust control frameworks are in place to ensure that the unit gets satisfactory audit ratings.
  • Work closely with collections and take their feedback into modifying credit policy, if required

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

  • Extensive knowledge of the retail banking and should be well versed with various aspects of credit function
  • Good knowledge of credit tools like scorings & statistical models
  • Good interpersonal skills and stake holder management
  • Good analytical skills and computer knowledge
  • Audit experience will be an added advantage

Previous experience:

  • Bachelor Degree from reputed institution (Post graduation degree will be an added advantage).
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in the credit function in the local market.
