JOB PURPOSE

To deliver standard business support processes for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Plan, coordinate and provide a full range of site maintenance and installation works, to ensure preventive maintenance and installations at the BISP Facilitation Centres. (e.g. AC’s, Water coolers/dispensers, water supply/pumps, paint/repair works etc.) is carried out regularly ensuring well-functioning of equipment.

2. Support deployment of and provide technical supervision to external contractors, to facilitate efficient and cost-effective servicing or intervention for any installations, maintenance, or repairs. Perform regular and ad hoc installations, repairs and maintenance of plumbing systems and components, to ensure all installations meet established safety standards.

3. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through physical check and maintenance of lists, strictly following WFP assets management guidelines.

4. Compile and provide accurate reports on works undertaken, services provided, materials procured and used for installations/repairs, to support accurate accounting and enable efficient planning for future works/services.

5. Contribute to evaluation of required installation/repair works, compare prices of materials, and contribute to planning of future preventive maintenance works, to support efficient and cost-effective site maintenance services.

6. Be a first point of contact for internal queries related to BISP sites in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, to facilitate the provision of efficient and effective resolution of daily issues. Respond to queries and escalate where appropriate, to provide a timely and accurate service to clients.

7. Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Completion of Secondary School, preferably Bachelor’s degree in social sciences

Experience:Minimum 3 to 4 Years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work, preferably with NGOs, INGOs or UN system.

Knowledge & Skills:

-Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word.

-Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision.

-Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.

-Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention.

-Ability to offer guidance or basic on-the-job training to more junior staff.

Languages: Proficiency in both oral and written communication skills in English and Urdu. Knowledge of Pashto is desirable.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position is based in Provincial Office Peshawar, and the incumbent will report to Head of Administration Unit Peshawar.

WFP is supporting Government of Pakistan in implementation of the BISP ‘Nashonuma’ programme to reduce high rates of chronic malnutrition (stunting) across Pakistan. Nashonuma utilizes the existing primary health care system to implement stunting prevention programmes which include the provision of specialized nutritious foods.

WFP in collaboration with BISP has launched this programme in 136 BISP Facilitation Centres (FCs) across KP. Administration Unit has to make sure the overall installation and maintenance of required equipment and furniture etc. Due to the increase in number of FC’s; there is a need for additional resource to support the BISP project implementation.
