JOB DESCRIPTION
Role : Assistant Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions
Location : Abu Dhabi
Role Purpose:

  • Support Head of NBFI in the client coverage and origination efforts.
  • Support Global Head of FI in driving key initiatives and executing the FI strategic agenda.
  • To manage an assigned existing portfolio and a list of Target Market potential prospects for acquisition towards achieving financial targets (including but no limit to revenue, new net revenue, volume, cross-sell ratio, ROE, and ROA) and overall customer satisfaction

Key Accountabilities of the role

  • Assist Head of NBFI in achieving revenue, return and other agreed performance measures.
  • Support Head of NBFI in client engagement, directly building relationships with clients at a working level.
  • Draft Client Account Plans in partnership with Head of NBFI, performing needs analysis, wallet analysis, competitor wallet share analysis and limit requirements
  • Originate business / cross-selling opportunities by identifying client needs and positioning the bank's capabilities accordingly
  • Draft and maintain client related records such as call reports / client information and disseminate this as appropriate
  • Assist in client onboarding and CDD reviews where required
  • Support the Head of NBFI in their duties as the first line of defense in ensuring compliance to the Bank's policies and procedures, including those relating to Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering. Where appropriate, assist in the investigation of financial crime risks and the reporting of suspicious activities.
  • Manage all risk assessment proposals covering the NBFI sector, TM/RACs, Credit Programs, Credit Applications and all other Risk Assessments documents as required by the credit committee.
  • Manage and monitor the credit portfolio through timely credit triggers monitoring, rapid portfolio reviews, and scenario plans, in line with the growth business plan
  • Build sector expertise through understanding market and business trends, understanding economics of industry, key levers and key products to offer, and ensure that all new deals in discussion are recorded and updated in deals in pipelinereport on a weekly basis

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

  • Sound knowledge of bank products including Cash Management, Trade Finance, Financial Markets / Treasury, Capital Markets and Lending/ Syndications
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Financial Institutions Credit and CDD procedures
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of credit policy & procedure
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Fluent in English with Arabic a bonus

Previous experience:
Minimum of 3 years banking experience
