Job Description:

Job title: Early Childhood Education and Development Centre Officer

Job purpose:
Under the overall supervision of the ECED & CPiE Project Manager, Early Childhood Education Centres -Headmaster will be responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality early childhood education in ELC – Azraq Camp, with daily Supervision for ELC- Azraq Camp Staff and centers.

The post holder will also ensure that ELC activities are highly valued by the community and acknowledged as addressing the needs of children in emergencies in Azraq camp.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Discuss the Early Learning Center weekly activities plan with the ECE PM.
  • Provide needed support to ELC staff by keeping them informed of day-to-day feedback Keep the staff informed about the instructional program and services, and conduct meetings as needed to ensure that the instructional programs run smoothly.
  • Ensure staff adheres to educational standards and criteria as outlined in MOE Standards.
  • Oversee the performance of KG teachers by ensuring that they are providing high-quality educational service, attending classes, and providing /coordinating for capacity building.
  • Maintain Target achieving through the responsibility of the ECEC Project Assistant Reporting & Data Management Officer and support is provided in the mobilization process and defining registration criteria through me.
  • Ensure parents have clear and accurate information about their child’s progress through their teachers and coordinate opportunities for community leaders to provide advice and support to the early childhood programs and the formation of PTA committees.
  • Monitor progress of the implementation of activities at the centers and ensure that ELC Teachers fill in all necessary reporting templates on monthly basis for the PM, submit children’s attendance and absence papers, and Follow up to ensure the ECEC data management officer provides the MEAL department with need and supporting documents related to the ECEC. to ECEC Project Assistant Reporting & Data Management Officer.
  • Ensure that any accidents involving children are reported to their respective parents and ECE as per policy.
  • Evaluation and selection of learning materials and equipment that fit the center’s needs, and coordinate the purchasing of instructional materials and equipment following district procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure education staff maintain the required component information in each child’s file Determining the needs, and requirements of children with disabilities and arranging transportation services for children with disabilities
  • Participate in camps coordination meetings, and share updates with partners in education and ECD and establish coordination channels
  • Any other tasks requested by the PM

Required Professional Experience

  • At least one-year experience as a kindergarten teacher
  • At least one year of experience in the Azraq – camp
  • Very good knowledge of safe environments and safe places for children

Substantial experience as a preschool teacher, as manager of a kindergarten or equivalent and training, facilitation and coaching skills

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • University degree in Education, ECD, or related fields

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication in Arabic and English
  • Ability to cope and work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Computer skills (Microsoft office)

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

Azraq camp 100%

Language Requirements

Arabic and English skills is required
