Position outline:
As a non-profit organization, SOS Children's Villages Jordan largely depends on big corporate enterprises: national or multinational companies and Small and medium corporate enterprises and other external bodies to provide the resources it needs to sustain its operations.
The Corporate Donors Coordinator is therefore responsible for raising funds and in-kind donations to ensure the present and future operations of SOS Children's Villages Jordan.
He/ She pursues opportunities with & fundraises from the corporate entities of the country to fund the relevant programmes, and investments.
In the Communications part, he/she will support Communications Specialist whenever needed to ensure the maintenance of a positive external image of the Organization, and ensure that messages to the media and the public reflect the image required by the organization; this includes support in content writing, social media content, press releases, e-newsletters and managing activities that raise awareness about the work of the Association, mainly corporate-related.
Detailed Description of Tasks & Responsibilities:
This job description outlines only the general scope of activity and the basic tasks and responsibilities associated with this position. It may be supplemented with a more detailed definition of tasks and responsibilities and is subject to change at the discretion of the employee’s immediate supervisor.
1. Secure financial support and in-kind donations from corporates and other external bodies
A. Participate in developing, launching and maintaining national fundraising and local sponsorship programmes;
B. Research potential organizations that can be approached for sponsorship such as Family House sponsorship, Family Strengthening Programmes, and for in-kind donations and campaigns.
C. Develop and write bilingual proposals to be sent to targeted organizations.
D. Maintain a record of proposals sent and ensure appropriate and timely follow-up.
E. Submit a monthly report to the Fund Development Director, indicating funds and donations received, new sponsors approached and acquired, and PR events.
2. Ensure good relations are maintained with Corporate donors and sponsors.
A. Maintain regular contact with the corporate donors/sponsors, keeping them informed of Village developments and activities.
B. Send all donors/sponsors a newsletter at least twice a year;
C. Invite donors/sponsors to functions held at the SOS Children’s Villages;
D. Establish and maintain a database of sponsors and donors, plus a VIP List for PR activities.
E. Implement International Corporate partnerships in the country according to International settings and guidelines
F. Develop the annual tools (product portfolio and packages, presentations, proposals, partners’ categorisation, loyalty services)
G. Implement the corporate loyalty programme.
3. Support Ensuring the Maintenance of a Positive External Image of the Organization
A. Ensure that messages to the media and the public reflect the image required by the organization;
B. Safeguard the identity/ brand of the organization through the proper use of the logo and name in all documentation and public functions;
C. Ensures child protection issues remain key in all actions and decisions.
D. Ensure that supporters of SOS Children’s Villages are kept up to date with developments within the Association through appropriate communication;
E. Assist in developing different marketing materials, such as brochures; newsletters, press releases, annual fundraising reports and others.
F. Assis in developing social media posts related to corporates covering all platforms, to increase the reach and ensure positive engagement by the audience.
G. Manage activities and events related to corporates, that raise awareness about the work of the Association, in coordination with the Village’s teams.
4. Liaise with the Financial Controller on Issues relating to the Inflow/Outflow of Funds
A. Assist the Financial Controller with the compilation of the annual Fundraising/PR Budget;
B. Assist the Financial Controller with cash-flow planning, based on expected income from fundraising programmes;
C. Liaise with the Financial Controller on the reconciliation of monies raised through fundraising programmes;
D. Provide monthly income reports, and variance analysis as required.
5. Adhere to the Association’s General Administrative/Management Policies and Guidelines
E. Coordinate national activities with the Fund Development Director and the team;
A. Prepare the annual review of Fundraising/PR activities, and participate in planning meetings of the Association;
B. Ensure the development of generic fundraising proposals;
C. Undertake any lawful and reasonable task, as directed by the National Director.
6. Understand the SOS Children’s Village Organization
A. Become familiar with the background, philosophy, principles, policies and structure of the organization;
B. Understand the roles of the various SOS co-workers.
7. General
A. Carries out all duties in an exemplary manner and provides a good role model for the children.
B. Performs any other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Position requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any other related field.
Experience:
o 3-5 years in corporate fundraising or sales
o Proven track record in fundraising/sales/marketing
Skills:
o Excellent bilingual oral and written communication skills
o Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word & Excel)
