Our client is an international IT Consulting and Services company. They are seeking a highly innovative and transformative delivery professionals to assume responsibility for developing the people, process and technology to compete on the global stage.
The delivery role will reside in the Group IT division. Group IT drives and delivers the IT solutions, that powers success across multiple international geographies and nationally within the UAE.
The Group IT ITIO (IT Infrastructure, Operations and Application COE) team develops and supports a comprehensive catalogue of technology services and platforms. The success of the team is measured through service availability, high velocity delivery of new and enhanced IT services that enable and empower the business and through the successful balancing of cost, capability development, risk and overall service performance.
As part of Group IT Transformation program our focus is on improving effectiveness and efficiency within Group IT.
The Technology Engineer role will report directly to the VP Cloud Platform. The engineer will own design and build of the new Cloud platform along with all associated components from inception to the mature running environment over time. The role will be responsible for driving change and delivering new technology into the Bank by moving legacy applications over to the Cloud Platform.
The engineer will work closely with the parallel teams in educating them on the new Cloud Platform to ensure the transition is a smooth one. The overall team will work using an Agile methodology delivering work packages in parallel based on the priority of the end customers.
Requirements
1. DevOps Engineering-
· An expert in DevOps methodology
· Good infrastructure and security knowledge
· Facilitating getting the work done across the Agile development teams and other stakeholders
· Clear internal and external communication, improving transparency across teams and stakeholders
· Energized by complex problem solving and ability to innovate new solutions
· Ability to work under pressure, manage client expectations effectively
· Knowledge on Operating Systems (Windows and Linux)
· Sound knowledge and application troubleshooting capability on Kubernetes, Openshift and Container Network Interface (CNI)
· Understanding of Springboot/NodeJS/Python-based microservice development and deployment patterns will be beneficial
· Strong understanding of Jenkins-based Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment/Delivery (CICD) with automation using Groovy or Python scripting.
· Strong knowledge on Container image management (Docker)
· Knowledge of DevOps technologies and tools such as Jenkins, Github, SonarQube and Checkmarx would be beneficial.
Public Cloud DevOps experience in AWS / AZURE is preferential.
2. Delivery Experience –
· Ability to work on projects from inception to delivery
· Decision making to decide on best solution based on cost, time and quality of options
· Cross skills in delivery but also operational support as per the new DevOps model
· Implementing robust solutions to minimize operational effort
Experience Requirememnt-
· At least 5 years development or operational experience
· Experience within complex environments defined by high availability, high transaction rate and geographical complexity
· Good communication skills at all levels
