You will be working as Service Engineer, will be the part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries division based in Doha Qatar. In this role you will be responsible to execute medium to high complex service jobs & projects with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. Proactively communicate with both customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for penetration and expansion. - Performing medium to high complex service tasks for 800xA based safety system like installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrade and retrofits, repairing independently, identifying technical problems and making analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, extensions, replacements, upgrades and retrofit, end of life service etc.)
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation, creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understanding their needs. Identifying new sales opportunities and taking influence in convincing the client for the complete service portfolio
- Coordinating, preparing and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities, making standard lists for ease of work. Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative and reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed. Creating standards or job durations
- Proactively identifying potential equipment failures and proactive corrective actions, troubleshooting complex equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future
- Identifying suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discussing them with management for change
- Consistently applying functional processes considering links to other teams
Your background
- Bachelors degree in Electrical / Equivalent Engineering
- Must have minimum 5-6 years of experience of which at least 5 years as customer support / project / service engineer of System 800xA based safety systems preferably in Oil & Gas / Power & Water industry.
- Good hands-on experience in system 800xA based integrated control and safety system (both hardware and software) with AC800MHI library-based application development – project & commissioning
- Knowledge of FSMS (functional safety management system) and valid Functional Safety certifications (TUV FS engineer, ABB certifications etc.)
- Knowledge of Functional safety technical standards IEC61511, IEC61508 and corresponding system engineering practice experience.
- Hands on Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration
- Hands on experience in Cyber security for 800xA based systems
- Be an analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient and highly adaptable- in line with ABB's latest advance service & digital portfolio
- Hands on Experience in industrial communication protocols like Modbus- RTU & TCP, OPC, etc.
