The KCGEB is recruiting an outstanding scientist (PhD) with demonstrated excellence in developmental genetics to join our team in the identification of genes relevant for weevil sensory neurodevelopment involved in host selection and mating. The goal will be to target these genes, and ultimately to transfer deleterious mutations in these genes to the wild population for pest control.
Minimum Qualification
The candidate is expected to have international working experience and be familiar with the UAE, have experience supervising PhD students and Postdocs, and have shown the capacity to secure funding as an independent researcher. Experience with scRNAseq bioinformatic analysis and in the design and use of reagents for the manipulation of gene expression with cell type specificity is fundamental.
Preferred Qualification
PhD in Biological related fields, prefer with post graduate experience
