Job summary
In this Manama, Bahrain based role, the Immigration Specialist will be responsible for the daily Bahrain immigration service execution of all immigration cases, including managing all government portals. The team will be managing immigration requirements for sponsored employees along with their dependents. You will have two key focusses: a) this is a case working role and acts as the single point of contact for case execution b) review all aspects of the daily case operations and provide recommendations to simplify and scale processes.
Key job responsibilities
Reporting into the Bahrain Immigration Manager, you will work within a highly productive team organized into coordination, typing and government liaison sub-teams. Key responsibilities include:
. Filing and executing immigration cases, coordinating between recruitment, onboarding and other HR stakeholders and government authorities formulating and executing the best possible immigration strategy for each employee.
. Manage the caseload of applications, for all requirements within Bahrain.
. Caseload would include mixed application types from new, renewal, cancelation and amendment of work permit and residency visas each filing includes sub-applications related to work permit, entry permit, medical, ID card etc.
. Coordinate with other specialized members of the team for drafting and submission, payment of government fees and collection of documents/approval notices.
. Manage high volume of communication with employees and several internal groups while meeting the team respond SLA within a single business day or sooner, depending on the case timeline.
. Ensure process and compliance adherence of all case filings.
. Lead a weekly casework review meeting to examine the progress of all cases against standard turn-around-times and key metrics.
. Formulate action plans to resolve issues and realign stakeholder expectations.
. Act as the first point of contact for service escalations, creating and maintaining a service issue log to record all related activity and conclusions.
. Investigate processes and create business cases for enhancements, working alongside the Bahrain Immigration Manager, other internal teams, and drawing upon other subject matter experts.
. On occasion investigate changes in Bahrain immigration legislation and policy and inform HR, Legal and other stakeholder groups on potential impacts to the business.
. Contribute to, and drive, process improvement initiatives, beginning with identifying defects or evaluating customer complaints but also considering where the team can increase efficiency and continuously upscale the quality of service.
. Manage content and communication framework required in order to ensure easy navigation for customers.
About the team
The Immigration EMEA & APAC Strategy & Operations team within People Experience & Technology, manage overall immigration program for these regions in terms of Strategy and Operations, primarily working backwards from customer experience. The Team's focus is around immigration case filings, project delivery to improve quality, speed, experience, cost and compliance of immigration services at Amazon.
Basic Qualifications :
. Bachelor's degree in a related field is required
. 5-7 years of experience in immigration programs with broad knowledge and experience in working with right to work, work authorization and human resource processes and employee lifecycle.
. 3+ years of experience in case working team
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
. Experience managing confidential and sensitive employee information and adherence to strict confidentiality standards.
. Excellent knowledge of Bahrain employment and immigration laws.
Preferred Qualifications :
. Master's Degree in related field.
. Proven ability to identify process defects, make recommendations for process improvements, and implement process improvements.
. Experience resolving complex immigration issues independently and taking ownership in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.
. Experience managing third party immigration vendors.
. strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.
. Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal skills high quality document and report preparation.
