• As a member of the Refinery leadership team, contribute towards delivery of the overall strategic plans to achieve greater efficiencies and growth, working to ensure that the Refinery achieves its targets in quality, environment, safety and health (QES&H) and drives the cost per tonne down to an operational minimum through the delivery of optimum levels of engineering reliability and maintenance spend.
• The purpose of the role is to safely and effectively be responsible for the Operations and Maintenance of Electrical, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation, Essential replacement maintenance projects and people development activities in the Maintenance Team of the refinery. Driving a continuous improvement culture to improve the engineering reliability of the Refinery and delivering a high performing platform for other internal customers enablement in meeting the key objectives for the business.
• Manage and direct all activities related to Electrical, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation and Maintenance projects in the refinery in order to have uninterrupted production.
• Lead, motivate and develop a flexible and capable workforce who embody the Al Khaleej Sugar values and are fully aligned and committed to meeting all targets. Develop capability across the engineering teams to sustain and improve site operations, ensuring effective succession planning is in place.
• Act as the technical engineering authority on site and be responsible for all the statutory and mandatory requirements associated with engineering compliance to company policies, rules and regulations and the subsequent safe operation of all equipment.
• Ensure all Refinery’s equipment operate in a safe and efficient manner and the maintenance of all equipment is performed on a timely basis as per the required standards.
• Ensure corrective measures and improvement of refinery operation.
• Responsible for the log and maintenance of power and energy consumption related to the refinery operation.
• Ensure checks of breakdown of equipment and abnormality in the operation and take corrective actions or repairs on a timely basis as per the required standards and operational needs.
• Coordinate with Dubai Electricity & Water Authority and Dubai Ports Authority for periodical internal and external maintenance, shutdowns and implementation of authorities’ rules & regulations.
• Responsible for the planning, implementation and execution of all maintenance projects related to operations in the Refinery in a safe, timely and efficient manner as per business and operational needs.
• Support the Refinery procurement function in Supply Chain to ensure cost effective sourcing and purchasing of the required quality goods and services.
• Ensure financial controls are in place for delivering the maintenance with optimal spend and associated agreed capex projects with Management to improve the engineering reliability of the Refinery.
• Apply thought leadership to avoid work process waste, improve practice efficiencies and optimize engineering contractor utilization in the Refinery.
• Maintain good housekeeping, cleanliness and orderliness within the area of responsibility as per company standards.
• Comply with safety requirements and encourages safe working practices.
• Adhere to the QMS system, OHSAS (18001), ISO 14001 (EMS) and HACCP / Food Safety System (22000) and SEDEX requirements.
• Lead by example in role-modelling the Al Khaleej Sugar Values and instil a culture in your department based on these principles.
