Counselor

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Providing prevention and intervention in the form of counseling sessions as well as offering social emotional leaning classes.
  • Offering timely, professional, and constructive follow up with students, parents, and teachers.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of students and student issues within the confines of the school policy and procedures.
  • Refering students to external professionals when needed, and coordinate with them as required.
  • Contributing to creation, dissemination, and data gathering of surveys within the schools.
  • Attending and contribute to school programs and activities.
  • Monitoring student behavioral and academic performance.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

  • University degree in Counseling, Preventive Mental Health, or Social Work, or Clinical Psychology.
  • Basic counseling and therapy skills is a plus.
  • 2 or more years of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic is essential.
  • Strong service orientation, flexibility and understanding of different school stakeholders needs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a gift to motivate and inspire students.
  • Ability to build trust and promote positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues'.
  • Pursuing innovation and excellence, and acting as a role model and leading by example.
  • Ability to prepare reports and deliver oral presentations.
  • Excellent planning, coordinating, organizing and analyzing abilities are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with teachers at all levels in a multicultural environment.
  • Motivational; with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students.
