Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- prepares a bank reconciliation with cash balance and prepare any entries to correct the cash balance in the ledger.
- Seek appropriate authorization and ensuring that all supporting documents are collected and attached to vouchers.
- Support month closure in coordination with Finance Manager.
- Preparation of the day-to-day (checks+ Transfer) and cash payments to vendors.
- Monitors and ensures project spending are all in line with approve budget(s) in coordination with the budget holders and supervisor.
- Assist the team during audit visits.
- Leading the Accounting System, Import all accounting data through CSV templet and manually, Raised PR’s.
- Ensures that internal controls are established, reviewed, and maintained according to IMC and donor guidelines.
- Monitors and controls cash advances and ensure timely clearance.
- Responsible for review AR/AP report (Account Receivable/ account payable) and report circulated on a monthly basis
- Assist in preparing National Staff Payroll and consultant payments in compliance with rules and regulations with all relevant backups in coordination with the HR department including any issue related to the staff health insurance coverage.
- Receive the affiliated hospital's Payment Requests from medical claims department when approved.
- As the Finance Officer s/he will determine if affiliated hospitals' claims are within the agreement framework and the agreed treatment plan. S/he will also make sure that all medical actions taken are thoroughly documented and approved by IMC referral doctors and medical claims officers
- Check the accuracy of payment request done by the medical claims department; – Conduct random verification of patient files, treatment process and claims provided.
- Verify that donor approval has been obtained for the related claims.
- Process the monthly payments for affiliated hospitals when final approval is obtained.
- Obtain financial clearance from the affiliated hospitals on monthly basis;
- Act as a liaison point with affiliated hospitals finance departments to ensure proper financial tracking and solving any issues that might arise with monthly invoicing.
- Regular communication with referral team to support then and to report any matter that has financial implication.
- Maintain all the accounting entries related to referral hub and affiliated hospitals' financial transactions.
- Promote and adhere to IMC code of conduct, anti-fraud, anti-corruption, compliance/Ethics and other IMC's policies and culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Travel to relevant work location as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Candidate must have Advanced English Skills
- From 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- NGO experience is preferred
- Staff supervision
- presence of relevant certification is preferred
