Senior Piping Material Engineer
Job Description

Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent. Preferable a master's degree in corrosion engineering or other material science expertise.
- More than 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry preferably in SA projects.
- Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
- Master in Material or Corrosion engineering or other similar.
- Experience in developing SP3D piping material specification is a plus.
- Fully knowledge of SA and international codes.
Task Description:
- Is responsible for the quality, budget, and respect of project schedule for piping material tasks
- Is responsible for the design of all piping components
- Reviews the Client's technical documentation and requirements.
- Issues project piping material specification and piping components/special piping material data sheets.
- Performs wall thickness calculations of pipes
- Prepare MR's of piping material.
- Prepare technical bid evaluation for all piping components offers.
- Prepare technical part of requisitions for all piping components purchase orders (DCPRs)
- Reviews and approves vendors documents
- Maintains project technical files and update Company standards
- Performs the inter-disciplines checking for the part of documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
- Checks sub-contracted discipline engineering documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
- Is responsible for the establishment of the Marian data base
- Performing MTO activities.
- Checks documents issued by piping material engineers
- Prepare mechanical valve data sheet.
