Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in marketing and/or communications
- Demonstrated communications leadership of complex programs
- Experience working with external agencies on large-scale campaigns
- Experience designing and executing events and developing event sponsorship programs.
- Experience with CRM programs, including strategy and execution
- Experience handling external and internal communications programs, developing written content
- Experience with a variety of communication channels including email, podcasting, video, digital, etc.
- Proven problem solving and strategic thinking
- Self-motivated with a talent for working entrepreneurially in an unstructured, virtual global environment
- Strong execution orientation ability to execute independently and flawlessly
Who You'll Work With
You will work with McKinsey's People and Organizational Performance (POP) leaders in Europe, as well as Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMA).

You will report to the Director of Communications for the practice, and work with a dynamic, global team. You will be accountable to practice leaders based in Europe, EEMA, and other regions around the world. What You'll Do
The Communications Manager advances the strategic goals of McKinsey's People and Organizational Performance Practice by creating and executing the communications direction and priority campaigns for external and internal audiences.
You will work closely with leaders to advance the practices goals through a broad range of initiatives. In, addition, you will often provide expertise and guidance to your colleagues to influence communications efforts.
You will have a broad remit to advance the reputation of the practice, as well as client engagement and internal awareness of practice priorities. You will realize these goals through a variety of channels including McKinsey.com, social media, traditional media, events, email campaigns, and direct-to-client materials.
Specifically, you will lead regionally tailored R&R planning, working with local offices, sub-regions and industry sector practices to help create tailored POP R&R plans and lead multi-channel campaigns for POP's top priorities, working in close collaboration with local POP leaders and communications leaders in each office.
You will develop a global CRM strategy, driving and executing the global approach to connecting with a POP community, and aiming to grow and mature the practices direct-to-client email communications.
You will provide spokesperson support, to identify and help media-train regional POP leaders and align on priority themes and activities for external activities like media interviews, speeches, podcasts interviews, etc. You will increase media coverage by collaborating with regional communications colleagues and actively pursue relationship-building opportunities with key media and influencers across priority themes, including attrition, talent, hybrid, DE&I, etc. You will facilitate support with agency management on occasional projects, e.g. PR, social media, event production, brand and design. You will pursue local angles for global publishing, sharing global publishing priorities across the region, as well as localizing and packaging global initiatives for European / EEMA offices.
In addition, you will you lead regional events, in partnership with the global events manager and local POP leaders. You will support the creation and execution of the strategic events program across the region, including McKinsey-hosted virtual and in-person events, with a focus on increasing POP external brand awareness and client development opportunities. e.g. roundtables, multi-client forums, etc. You will also drive regional partnerships, identifying and managing relationships with external organizations (e.g., Chatham House, Drucker Forum, etc.)
You will partner with local leaders to identify and develop opportunities for Lighthouse client storytelling. In addition, via social media, you will support personal social channels for key partners in the region, and coordinate with local offices to embed POP content into regional social channels.
You will regularly monitor and track R&R activity and performance for POP in Europe / EEMA to be shared with POP Communications team and leadership.
