Job Description
Job Title: UGV Technical Development Manager (UGV)
Job Purpose
To manage the system design lifecycle for unmanned ground and marine systems including and not limited to manage the system design, lead the primary design review, review the system prototype test results, monitor the assembling and integration of components/sub-systems as per the system design in order to ensure with the system engineers that the development as per the requirements of stakeholders. Provide continuous feedback of the development work to and work closely with the project manager to execute the project and mitigate risks.
Key Accountabilities
Analyze and provide update to Program manager on all project risks; suggest measures to mitigate risks; and escalate major issues/concerns to the Project Manager.
Continuously provide and suggest project-level innovations and enhancements based on the latest technological trends.
Provide inputs to the team on system interface to achieve the overall product design objectives
Provide inputs for project documentation including and not limited to technical scope, design approach, estimation of budget, resources and potential risks specific to system engineering.
Prepare system engineering project plans including phases, key activities, milestones, work schedule, work orders and work flows
Manage the implementation of the system engineering projects aligned with the project plan, budget guidelines, volume throughput, industry standards and expectation to improve safety and compliance
Mobilize and ensure utilization of project resources i.e. executive team, manpower, capital and infrastructure
Conduct design reviews throughout the development lifecycle with the team to ensure completeness from functionality standpoint. Identify key risks and recommend risk mitigation measures.
Approve the manufacturing data pack including key product aspects/specification and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes.
Lead the planning and implementation of system automation as required for better system efficiency.
Monitor the assembling and integration components/sub-systems of system prototype including and not limited to Installation, configuration testing of operating systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure that they are carried out as per the system design.
Supervise the overall process of testing of system prototype; review the test analysis and recommendation and decide appropriate actions to change the design, if required
Review/inspect the assembling and integration of new/modified products on proof-of-concept basis to ensure that it is carried out as per specific design, drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
Manage an orderly transfer of all the knowledge and know-how internally within the team.
Manage an orderly transfer of knowledge externally during project delivery/training (customer) or during key partner interaction (factory acceptance).
Manage quality reviews at key implementation milestones related to scope and deliverables of system engineering.
Ensure compliance to project management framework, methodology and toolkit.
Adhere to HSE (health, safety and environment) procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree in system engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification in Project Management
Master degree in management or, Master degree in engineering
Minimum Experience
7 years of experience as a chief of engineers in public/private sector organization
Preferred Experience
3 years of experience in unmanned systems engineering management or equivalent role in public/private sector defense organization
Nationalities :European or Asian Candidates, (UK, indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South korea, Ukrainian, India)
