ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. WFP Technology Division (TEC, formerly known as the IT Division) is the digital business engine of the World Food Programme, providing the business with multi-pronged and resilient technical capabilities able to respond with the agility required in humanitarian operations.
Reporting directly to the Workplace Management Lead and under the general supervision and guidance of the Chief of TECM and the Head of Support Services, the incumbent is accountable for the implementation and industrialisation of the corporate Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, based on Microsoft Endpoint Manager. The incumbent must have a strong orientation towards providing quality end user services, whilst having the technological knowledge to implement, support and maintain a cloud-based MDM service. The organisation is currently going through a significant shift in the way it manages devices, with a strong emphasis on zero-trust and least privilege principles, and the incumbent is expected to be a key player in this transition.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply continual improvement methodologies to the corporate MDM platform, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, ensuring alignment to corporate policies, business needs and end user expectations.
- Create and share organisational change management material to support the adoption of the MDM service and create a feedback mechanism to gather valuable inputs from end users.
- Support the implementation of the Zero Trust Conceptual strategy for the MDM platforms. The approach would be to gradually build security requirements in line with the technology.
- Provide knowledge and expertise to facilitate other device management workstreams across the organisation, with the objective of standardising the management approach.
- Research and implementation of new technologies to improve the global MDM IT infrastructure, developing innovative processes to increase compliance for platforms, such Android, iOS, etc.
- Provide efficient support to end users, ensuring an ‘excellency in customer service’ approach and mindset.
- Knowledge Management: Ensure documentation on installation and implementation procedures and other related matters are in order; compile guidelines to be shared with all stakeholders and users.
- Perform other related duties as required.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
- The corporate MDM service is fully operational and compliant with zero trust principles.
- A well-defined support model in place and training and guidance is provided to colleagues at all levels of support.
- Quality change management material is produced and shared to support the adoption of the MDM service.
- Excellency in customer service is achieved when providing end users with assistance.
- Knowledge sharing is prioritised to ensure business continuity for the day-to-day management of the corporate MDM service.
- ITIL best practices are always followed to ensure compliancy to service, problem, incident and change management policies.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
- University degree, preferably in the field of Computer Science/Engineering or related STEM disciplines.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (e.g. MCSA Universal Widows Platform or Server 2016) or any other relevant Microsoft certificates (e.g. Microsoft 365 or Azure or DevOps certification on Associate or Expert levels) are desirable.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of professional experience in IT, with at least 2 years’ experience in Device Management and Cloud technologies, including experience in general IT Infrastructure administration.
- Experience working with Identity Management technologies.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Detailed knowledge for producing assessment documentation and operational guidelines
- Proven ability to automate and standardize processes within a business environment
- Ability to identify and solve quickly issues and problems
- Teamwork oriented and ability to work under pressure
- Positive attitude for working in cooperation with different teams
Language:
Fluency in oral and written English is required. An intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
