Background Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit, non-governmental organization specializing in heritage based urban regeneration, traditional craft-training and connecting artisans to market opportunities. We seek to provide jobs, skills, and a sense of pride, through heritage. Since 2006 Turquoise Mountain has restored 150 historic and community buildings, trained 10,000 craftspeople, generated direct sales of $7m in craft products and welcomed 1m visitors to our exhibitions worldwide. Context Turquoise Mountain is offering a business skills training course for artisans and apprentices working in Jordan. The training will give a general overview of business skills through three modules; branding, photography and business planning which are required to set up and run a crafts business. Roles and Responsibilities • Deliver a 10-week branding training to 10 different groups of artisan from different craft backgrounds • Provide Mentorships and feedback to the artisans through weekly assignments. • Develop and deliver a Branding curriculum with a focus on handicrafts businesses Skills: • A minimum of 5 years experience working in branding. • Demonstrable experience in branding training. • Demonstrable experience in curriculum design. • Good interpersonal skills with patience and flexibility. • Experience in crafts and cultural heritage is desirable. Working hours: 2 days a week from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Contract Duration: 10 weeks Location: Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Application: CV and short Portfolio (maximum of 10 A4 pages) showing a variety of examples of the applicant’s work in Branding.
