Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist- short-term contract -4 months

The “Strengthening the Influence of Palestinian Refugees on their Living Conditions (PART II)” project in Jordan is seeking a “Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist” on full-time base employment as per the attached job profile.

Starting date: as soon as possible

Contract period: 4 months (short-term contract covering maternity leave)

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • University degree in relevant subject
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field
  • Practical knowledge of results-based monitoring
  • Experience in Knowledge Management, Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Excellent English and Arabic speaking
  • Good practical knowledge of ITC tools and technologies (Word, Excel, MST Teams, e.g. MS Office)
  • Experience and a good understanding of the Palestinian refugee context
  • Experience and ability to cope with dynamic situations and cooperation for the development
  • Sensitivity for complex contexts, and ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds

Core tasks

In your role you support all the tasks that arise in the thematic area of security analysis. In consultation with your line manager, you are assigned individual tasks related to drawing up analysis reports and other security-related products. You also respond promptly and competently to matters that fall within your assigned thematic area, where applicable in consultation with experienced specialists, and following consultation remain available to answer further enquiries.

You make yourself available to answer enquiries related to issues that fall within your assigned thematic area, where applicable in consultation with experienced specialists. You clearly communicate the relevant requirements, conditions and restrictions in terms of your capacity to act with due regard for compliance rules and P+R. You deal with the matters and job orders assigned to you with due regard for all the legal, contractual, socio-political and corporate policy requirements and the instructions of your line manager and follow up the processing and completion of those tasks.

Working with experienced specialists, you resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.

In addition, you deal with all associated matters in your thematic area promptly and competently.

You provide support for knowledge management and ongoing process development in your area of responsibility. You also prepare and share documentation.

You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.

Main activities

  • Participates in planning, coordinating, and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects
  • Acts as the monitoring focal point for PART Jordan and contributes locally/regionally to organise and manage all data, tools, and other elements of the result-based monitoring system, in coordination with the Monitoring regional advisor
  • Acts as PART Jordan communication focal point and Digital Pioneer
  • Ensures relevant and timely M&E information is provided in user-friendly formats to and by key stakeholders, including partners.      
  • Leads knowledge management and learning in the team
  • Ensures the planning and implementation of certain work packages with partners and/or consultants
  • Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
