Engineers take measurements of the earth's surfaces for various projects. Take measurements of property lines, survey the curves and contour of the ground, and evaluate construction zones before construction begins. Surveyors also perform research on land records and prepare maps, plots, and reports.

Travelling to sites, when necessary.
Taking measurements of distances and angles on a property or section of land in order to establish legal boundaries.
Employing specialized equipment, including distance measuring wheels, GPS, and geographic information system (GIS) devices to measure boundaries and contours.
Performing mathematical calculations to determine and confirm surveying measurements.
Marking and delineating boundaries and reference points on a property or section of land.

Conduct surveys on land sites and properties

Research and design methods for survey processes
Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features (e.g. longitudes, latitudes)
