JOB PURPOSE

To provide a range of specialized support for efficient planning, monitoring, and analysis of project financial performance to enhance the optimal use of financial resources.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Recording & maintaining tracking sheet for funding proposals and contributions received from donors.
2. Timely programming of contributions following the donor restrictions and ensuring funds are consumed before expiry.
3. Communicating to Supply Chain and Programme, the programmed transfers and donor restrictions to follow.
4. Collecting and maintaining up-to-date details of the requirements, arrivals, available stock, and actual transfers.
5. Providing allocation of commodities based on requirements.
6. Consolidation and maintenance of the expenditure plan for associated costs.
7. Arranging monthly resource management and allocation committee meeting, recording, disseminating, and following up on minutes of the meeting.
8. Supporting the supervisor in analyzing to ensure the availability of food and identifying shortfalls for the coming months and proposing options to cover the shortfalls.
9. Supporting the supervisor in updating the Pipeline tool on regular basis.
10. Close coordination with fund managers for monitoring budget performance, identifying potential surpluses and deficits, and recommending corrective measures for effective consumption of funds.
11. Providing budget-related information for the consolidation of new/revision of CPB budget; financial implementation plan and project closure including resource transfer.
12. Preparation and dissemination of weekly fund management analysis
13. Support budget inputs for donor proposals and corporate reports.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education: Completion of secondary school education supplemented by first level university degree.

Experience: Has at least five years’ experience in Budget & Programme within UN system.

Language: Fluency in both English & Urdu

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Has supported the preparation and management of budgets.
  2. Has assisted with the monitoring of budgets/resource plan/pipelines/supply chains
  3. Has assisted with budget/allotment-related issues within the WFP budget system.
