My Client is a leading equipment and rental company.
Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the Unit Head, Equipment Operations position is to monitor and support the heavy equipment operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise the project execution, mobilization, demobilization activities of operations involving
heavy equipment such as cranes and loaders.
- Monitor project progress and prepare status reports based on the Project Execution plan ensuring
timely service delivery and performance.
- Assist in the day-to-day planning of all equipment operations requirements.
- Escalate any deficiencies or bottlenecks to the Manager, Equipment & Transportation.
- Provide briefing to project team prior to each project on service delivery and standards of
performance.
- Provide all equipment safety, maintenance and operation checklists, load charts, Company time
sheets, forms, and templates to the Operators.
- Proactively keep an open channel of communication with concerned departments and clients
during mobilization, demobilization and/or replacement service execution. Keep always plan B
ready in case of emergency and client service disruption.
- Follow up on equipment maintenance requests, and make sure replacement is planned and
executed on time to avoid clients service disruption.
- Educate Coordinators and Operators on ethical practices, time sheet completion, Company policies
and procedures, and service excellence standards and mandate compliance to Health, Safety and
Environment (HSE) policies and procedures of both Company and the client.
- Ensure that Operators are trained in all HSE policies prior to mobilization or dispatch to client or
rig sites.
- Review and approve all overtime claims by Operators.
- Coordinate with HSE team to provide required training and HR team for emergency contact
information.
- Assess working condition of equipment and accessories prior to mobilization.
- Coordinate with the Transport unit for transport of heavy equipment to client or rig sites.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure that all required services/repair of equipment
breakdown/failure have been performed.
- Update the Manager, Equipment & Transportation on available fleet and operators for projects.
- Notify Unit Head, Manpower Operations upon arrival of new joiners for operator training (i.e.
Crane, Loader and Rigger) and identify employees who require training and Saudi Arabian
Government (SAG) and Aramco-certified operator licenses.
- Assist Manager, Equipment & Transportations in developing the Mobilization or Demobilization
Notes – both equipment and manpower, at the point of project execution or project completion,
respectively and obtain confirmation or approval from client representatives.
- Obtain feedback from clients at the point of project progress and at demobilization.
- Adhere to all process level policies and procedures as per the approved Operations manual.
- Liaise with all departments at Companies, as required, in order to fulfill the objectives of the function.
- Provide feedback to the Manager, Equipment & Transportations.
- Leads, directs, evaluates and develops the Equipment Operations Unit team to ensure that the
objectives are reached.
- Is responsible for the development, performance appraisal and succession planning of all direct
and indirect reports.
- Promotes a highly effective management and leadership style in line with the Company values and
that supports the achievement of its strategy and objectives.
- Identifies potential successor for his/her position oversees and implements developmental plans
for identified successors.
- Identifies and monitors key Equipment Operations Unit functional KPIs, and devises plans and
initiatives for improvement.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 – 7 years of working experience in Industry, Contracting, Heavy Equipment Rental and Oil and
Gas contracting sector.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline with basic technical (electrical and mechanical) knowledge,
information of preventative maintenance etc.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience in the GCC is a plus, especially if the experience was in Saudi Arabia
- English language is a must, Arabic language is a plus

Physical/ Travel requirements:
Travel (up to 5%) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Company sites, yards and branches
