Job Title: Training and Capacity Building Coordinator

Department: Institutional Development

Reporting to: Institutional Development Team Leader

Location: Amman

Position type: Full-Time Local Professional

Duration: Six months (renewable as needed throughout project life)

Background

USAID Water Governance Activity (WGA) program is a multi-year project funded by USAID, which aims to support the Government of Jordan (GoJ) to achieve measurable improvements and greater sustainability of the water sector by providing technical assistance to strengthen the GoJ’s reform, policy development and implementation, and capacity-building efforts. USAID WGA will support the following objectives: support the GoJ to define and resolve water sector strategy and policy issues; improve water entities’ performance by reducing network losses, increasing conveyance efficiencies, and improving utility cost recovery; and specific, cross-cutting objectives related to support to gender, youth, persons with disabilities (PWD), and private sector engagement.

Job Summary:

The Training Coordinator will be responsible for the administration and coordination of USAID -WGA training and capacity building activities, under the overall direction of Institutional Development Team Leader. This position will support the implementation of Training and Certification Program and will provide crosscutting support as needed to the GESI and internship program on training activities. This position will also maintain coordination with Operations and communication teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, and lead day-to-day administrative and technical activities of the USAID -WGA training and capacity building activities
  • Maintain accurate data and records to track the events, achievements, participation, progress, for all training activities.
  • Support and follow up the implementation of training plans and certification programs
  • Provide progress reports of the training and certification programs
  • Provide cross-cutting support requested by Institutional Development Team Leader
  • Any other duties, as assigned by the supervisor and his/her designees

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior USAID or other international donor experience or projects is preferable.
  • Successful track record working in areas related to training implementation and coordination
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced computer literacy: MS Word, Excel are required

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or another related field is required.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in Training and Admin Field is required
