Senior Manager – Social Media

Role Purpose:
The Senior Manager – Social Media is responsible for the Social Media department. The role holder will create & deploy the overall cross-country social media strategy, set the KPIs & expectations by department, provide mentorship & leadership and be the face & point of escalation for the team internally & with other OpCos.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Strategy

  • Develops the full social media strategy end to end:
  • Defining audience targets & strategic objectives
  • Full operating model between countries, corporate, and wider MAF entities
  • Social care scope and responsibility definition
  • Tonality, design guides, and social media content approach
  • Ensures alignment across all countries to the social strategy and drives deployment
  • Responsible for content released on all company social media accounts, to drive consistency and continued improvement
  • Own the development of a strategic social media marketing plan and its associated budget across campaigns and channels.
  • Work with agencies, publishers, platforms (directly and indirectly) and other partners with the goal to find fast, creative and efficient ways to build, execute and measure innovative social media marketing plans that connect with customers, maximize engagement and create sharing, talk value and advocacy.
  • Lead the development and direct the implementation of a wide range of content forms, including video, text, still imagery, animation, live action and other content forms that best utilize the technology available on any given social media/digital platform.

Process & Organization

  • Defines the operating model for all social media across all company entities, including RACIs, definition of KPIs and targets, reviews & checkpoints, and escalation paths.
  • Responsible for all care, communication and marketing elements in social channels.
  • Proposes, prepares and owns the Social Media budget at a central level, with buy in from wider stakeholders.
  • Sets, monitors and managed the content guidelines and approval processes across markets and centrally.
  • Own the content development relationships & processes with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and other primary/key partnerships.
  • Develop partnerships and productive working relationships with program development teams, talent, publicists, show runners and other related stakeholders to build/leverage networking opportunities and integrate into strategic and tactical planning.
  • Establishes, monitors and runs the required internal meetings & reporting structures with wider teams, including other BUs/OpCos.
  • Defines and sets the organizational KPIs to measure success against the strategy, drives the reporting and improvement of KPIs and ensures wider business is aware of & working towards improved KPIs.
  • Acts as the escalation point of contact for internal teams, other BUs and OpCos, and external parties for Social Media, and maintains the agenda of the team when facing other parties.

Leadership

  • Organize and lead the Social media team in all markets, including defining market staffing requirements, setting specific and organizational objectives, running alignment meetings and events, etc.
  • Coaches & develops the wider market teams to maintain a pipeline of talent in and out, and to ensure engagement of all parties in markets.
  • Provide inspirational and thought leadership on ways to reach and gain attention of target audiences.
  • Work closely with the Omnichannel, Country, Operational and Corporate Executive teams to integrate and drive impact from our Social Media platforms & opportunities.
  • Identifies opportunities across the MAF enterprise & with external partners to elevate and establish MAF Carrefour as a leader in Social Media

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
  • Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
  • Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
  • Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
  • Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
  • Ensure the implementation of MAFR's corporate policies and relevant procedures

Definition of Success

  • Improved synergy between countries
  • Improved TAT between escalations between markets
  • Design and content following the brand standards and guidelines

Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications/education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital

Minimum experience:

  • 12+ years experience in a similar position, experience in the retail industry is preferred

Skills:

  • Very strong strategic elements, with clear history of building long term and short term strategic plans
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Proven leadership capabilities, able to lead and inspire teams in multiple geographies
  • Strong analytical background
  • Deep understanding of Social Media, Digital, Comms and Marketing, able to understand how the channels fit into the wider picture
  • Good communicator – able to work with and influence colleagues at all levels
  • Excellent people skills when dealing with all levels of stakeholders, including managing and advising business leadership.
  • Ability to track results and provide measurable success
  • Fluent English required
  • Arabic preferred but not essential
