Job Description

College/Department Profile
The Office of Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SIEED) has been established in Fall 2021 in the QU President Office to initiate, manage, execute, and/or coordinate developments of the President Office innovation and transformation cross-strategies and initiatives (e.g. Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy, Digital Transformation Strategy, etc.) among other strategic innovation and transformation duties and functions. The SIEED Office is also particularly focused on design, management, and execution on the evolution of holistic and mature QU Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Ecosystem across all QU sectors and emerging companies and ventures in integrated manner with the National Innovation & Economic Development ecosystem. This particular focus is in the process of realizing QU new vision aiming at positioning Qatar University as a .. Catalyst for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Qatar and is closely integrating with state transformation efforts into Innovation & Knowledge Based Economy (iKBE) as envisioned in Qatar National Vision 2030, the National Development Strategies, and Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) 2030 Strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
1.Ensures the success of the University's commitment to supporting economic development by facilitating and ensuring maximization of high impact QU entrepreneurship and innovation strategic initiatives and activities as per QU strategy and strategic directions.
2.Develop, manage, and mentor relationships which support entrepreneurship programs, initiatives, and activities across QU
3.Lead and manage, closely with the office director, the day to day entrepreneurship programs, initiatives, and activities across QU sectors
4.Work on building strategic collaboration relationships with key national and international support entities for entrepreneurship and economic development
5.Research trends, opportunities, innovative and niches entrepreneurial programs, initiatives, and activities
6.Lead the efforts of development of relevant entrepreneurial curricular components and digital learning modules for integration in QU education ecosystem
7.Supervise or co-supervise graduate theses conducting research on entrepreneurship
8.Assist in developing relevant research proposals relevant to entrepreneurship and economic development ecosystem acceleration internally in QU or externally on the national ecosystem
9.Develop reports, research papers and presentations in relevant to areas of scope of duties
10.Lead organization of relevant national and international entrepreneurial events in collaboration with other office members and key stakeholders internally and externally
11.Lead and manage the entrepreneurial advisory efforts of the office for key stakeholders internally and externally
12.Work closely with office team and external stakeholders for design and delivery of costumed entrepreneurial programs and initiatives for the national ecosystem industry, government, and other entrepreneurial support organizations
13.Develop and manage the office entrepreneurial transformation budget and lead the efforts for attaining external funds
14.Any other duties as assigned by direct line manager.
