Position Overview:
Parsons extensive experience combined with your attention to detail and skill requires Inspectors to document nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.In this role, you will perform difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks as well as inspect various facets of work on the construction site and perform continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Safety Inspector is responsible for managing multi-site safety protocols, procedures, and training for onsite construction services which involves irrigation and landscaping projects, irrigation main distribution and pumping station projects.
Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, mechanical, or electrical. Willingness to travel and/or to relocate to field sites is expected.
Responsibilities:
Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.
Managed operations and direction of labor, contract employees in a multi-site capacity.
Responsible for performing and directing all onsite safety inspections for customer base, creating strategic plans for deficiency recovery, and ensuring adherence to safety program policies.
Performed all aspects of onsite accident investigations for entire customer base in territory involving witness and victim interviews, post-accident evaluations of accident site, and root cause analysis.
Supported project supervision with daily safety inspections and participate in weekly project safety inspection.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Associate's or equivalent degree in a technical discipline or construction related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required (some drafting and related course work including basic mathematics).
Formal certification from an independent organization (NEBOSH Certification) is required, depending on type of inspection assignment.
5+ years of experience as a HSE Officer / Safety Inspector in heavy construction projects with experience in developing ongoing safety programs for the Company and customer organizations including HSE training.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
Basic knowledge of computer applications and software such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
