BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The World Food Programme (WFP) is leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. We are currently seeking to fill a position in the Global Payment Solution (GPS) Branch of the Corporate Finance Division.

WFP Corporate Finnace Division has embarked on a transformative journey away from the traditional back-office & transactional-focused role towards a more analytical, innovative, data-driven, and forward-looking proactive Finance function. Finance is a strategic partner for all WFP's operational functions and performance driver of WFP's financial management and control, and a key enabler for operational delivery.

The Corporate Finance Division identified "Operating Efficiency" in the Finance Strategy 2024 as one of the key areas to reduce costs, simplify processes and lessen the transactional burden on Country Offices to allow greater mission focus.

A comprehensive study of WFP's Accounts Payable processes has been conducted and a Global Payments Solutions (GPS) operating on a consolidated basis has been recommended.

Supported by proven technology, this best-in-class solution will consolidate on average 70% of the current manually performed payment tasks of Country Offices to a single platform consolidating transactional tasks that are high in volume and routine in nature.

The Global Payment solution will be implemented in a multi-step pilot followed by a full rollout phase over the coming three years. Field engagement is a core part of the rollout to drive ownership and impact.

Under the direct supervision of the Change Management Officer the incumbent will be provided with close mentoring, guidance and technical supervision. Performance planning and reviews as well as learning and development discussions will be elemental part of the supervision.

With the support of a comprehensive induction package and access to a network of communication officers and graphic designers, the incumbent will rapidly become a productive member of the team.

Here below main duties and responsibilities:

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. In line with WFP's corporate branding standards, create visual assets for online communication and interactive media such as animated videos, short e-Learning courses.

2. Produce effective and visually appealing online design products for GPS' initiatives, including but not limited to presentations, infographics, brochures, flyers, newsletters, data visualization products, visual information assets, charts, graphs, posters.

3. Support the team with graphic design by creating strong visual identifies for GPS' offer of learning products and services.

4. Maintain the WFP intranet page with the creation of design elements as well as posting key updates regarding GPS.

5. Develop and update the design for a set of learning and communication templates and publications such as: PowerPoint presentations, banners for online use, guidelines and job aid documents, reports, checklists, webpages (learning channels, blended learning path assets).

6. Support the team with text and visual content mapping, editing and refining for internal communication regarding GPS' offer of learning products and services.

7. Research and implement interactive design solutions for online communication.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

University degree in Graphic Design, Communication or related studies

Experience:

2 – 3 years of experience in producing/editing online design products and visual assets for online communication and interactive media such as animated videos.

Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and working with video production/editing and animation programmes (part of the Adobe Creative Cloud or other).

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Proficiency in creating MS PowerPoint and MS Word templates.

Familiarity with designing creative communication materials and providing support on technology related projects (e.g. interactive media, e-Learning template graphics).

Accuracy and attention to detail, customer/service-oriented attitude, ability to take constructive feedback.

Familiarity with latest design trends.

DESIRED ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge and background on instructional Design is an advantage.

Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS is an advantage.

REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:

Self-starter – ability to work independently, according to an agile methodology, seeking guidance as required.

Have a demonstrated ability to successful interact with individuals of different cultural background and beliefs.

Ability to work under pressure, and to deliver on tight deadlines.

Ability to organize and adapt to a high workload and changing priorities.

Communicate clearly and effectively to a diverse range of internal clients.

Show proactivity in finding best design approach solutions to complex learning and communication requirements.

Ability to assimilate and incorporate feedback.

LANGUAGES:

Native or highly proficient English speaking and written skills are required.

Working knowledge of a second UN language would be an advantage.
