Ignite Program Director

The Director of the Ignite Program plays a critical role in the leadership, development and support of the Ignite Officers at the Institutes across Jordan. S/he will be responsible to provide direction and oversight, leadership and ensuring a functional system at each VTI is built to support the required functions of the Project. S/he should also hold the responsibility of conducting risk assessment, and submitting recommendations to the Management for remedial measures based on the data received from each institute.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of strategies and plans which deliver excellent outcomes and support the effective implementation of Project objectives.
- Work collaboratively, support and provide advice to Ignite Officers on all aspects of the institute and ensure that education and skills planning are integrated.
- Ensure appropriate governance arrangements, including the management of finance and regulatory activities for all institutes to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Support the development of new sectors/operating models where they align to key outcomes.
- Work with institute staff of academies and administration to identify and address any causes of delay of implementation and issue reports and recommendations to the higher management as required.
- Supervise and ensure that all functions related to the day-to-day operations of the institutes are performed effectively.
- Promote inclusion, including through development and delivery of an authority wide model for inclusion and secure the most appropriate model for leadership to ensure maximum engagement of all staff at the institute.
- Work with key strategic partners and build positive relationship with all stakeholders to support the development across the institutes.
- ensure proper utilization of the Funds and alignment with the allocated budget for each institute
- Coach the ignite officers in goal setting, planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of action plans towards set targets and goals.
- Compile, interpret and communicate data to Project higher Management with respect to decisions related to determining institute’s needs.
- Ensure update and develop the data and information of the institutes within the project on an up-to-date basis.
- Participate in setting budgets and submitting periodic and annual reports to the Management.
- Participate in preparing studies on training programs and provide advice on modern education strategies to develop the educational process and innovation in the institutes.
- Periodic follow-up of performance Appraisal for the staff, preparing achievements percentage reports, to be submitted to the CEO.
- Visits institutes on a regular basis to monitor day-to-day operations and escalate any concerns of risk to the Management.
- Attends institute based-meetings and events as required to foster Project’s culture of engagement with staff, families, and community.
- Participate in staff recruitment where required,
- Performs other assigned tasks within the overall scope of his/her role.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of (12) years relevant managerial experience, preferably in the education and training sector
- University degree in relevant subject area.
- Strong project management skills with prior experience managing complex and/or multifaceted programs with measurable successes and program growth
- Strong communication, administration, organization, coordination and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and establish credibility to represent the Project and enhance its reputation.
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs and MS Office.
- Strong time management skills,
- Ability to work proactively and to use judgement to resolve and deal with complex issues.
- Proven people management skills with the ability to inspire and provide direction and guidance.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Knowledge of current educational policy especially as it relates to curriculum, teaching, assessment, leadership and management and school improvement.
- Strong senior management in institutional improvement interventions, local government and/or other relevant large and complex organizations concerned with Vocational education, training, learning and skills.
- Broad knowledge of public sector services, the macro social and economic context within which local authorities work and the implications of this for delivery of Project’s aims.
