The Clinical Medical Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for developing and advancing the quality of clinical practices through coordination of the quality improvement / assurance activities with the Central Billing Office for City Ambulance Services. Support and develop strategic programs to ensure compliance standards are met/ exceeded, limitation of errors and maximization of reimbursement opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review/ Audit Medics reports to ensure compliance and quality metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Works under the supervision of Clinical Quality Assurance director to develop clinical improvement plans.
  • Review patient care records written by field personnel to assure care provided is within the standards of care, medical direction protocols, completeness of clinical information, and accuracy of medical records for care provided.
  • Coordinates clinical peer review audits requiring judgment as to compliance to standards of care, medical direction protocols, completeness, and accuracy of medical records for care provided to support the Revenue Cycle.
  • Reports clinical documentation errors and related issues to Director of Quality Assurance.
  • Assist with the implementation of clinical and improvement plans.
  • Participates in meetings.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Regular and timely attendance during assigned work hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

المهارات

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • EMS or Nursing Certificate/Degree.
  • ALS/BLS Certification/Experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality improvement and assurance processes.
  • Ability to adhere to high level of integrity and objectivity in quality review of clinical care and provide feedback in a constructive model.
  • Familiarity with patient care report writing
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operational procedures
  • Be familiar with basic computer applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint
  • Manage time appropriately to ensure that all areas of the essential functions are adequately covered.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle.
