Purpose
The Procurement & Inside Sales Engineer will oversee the purchase of technical equipment for technical delivery.
The position collaborates with designers to determine the systems needed to complete projects according to specifications, research vendors for that equipment, then order it.
The position will negotiate purchase agreements with vendors and award contracts to vendors for equipment.
He/She also monitors any adjustments to equipment needs to maintain the optimum supply of equipment based on availability and price to complete projects on time and on budget.
A Procurement and Inside Sales Engineer needs to have high-level organization and record-keeping skills to maintain a consistent flow of equipment to the company’s projects and customers, and make sure vendors are fulfilling the terms of their contracts.
Influencing and negotiation skills are also crucial for the position, to negotiate the purchasing agreements for engineering equipment and hire vendors for projects.
Work Overview
- Analyse technical data and specifications to determine the equipment needed for projects.
- Evaluate equipment suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements for equipment.
- Devise, implement and oversee procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets.
- Administer supplier and vendor contracts.
- Ensure that purchases comply with technical, commercial, legal and contractual obligations.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Ensure responsible procurement practices meet company objectives and compliance requirements.
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding the nature and function of purchased equipment.
- Creating quotations for customers that detail pricing, delivery schedules, and other pertinent information about products or services.
- Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.
- Tasks that may be required from time to time.

Prerequisites
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or business administration.
- Able to analyze technical documents and specifications to understand critical requirements
- High-level verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with office software, specifically Microsoft Excel or similar programs
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
Desirable
- Valid UAE driving license
