Job Description and Qualifications

NEOM Greem Hydrogen Company (NGHC)

Air Products has entered into an agreement with ACWA Power and NEOM (all 3 have equal ownership) for the development of a $5bl green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility sited in NEOM. This is based on renewable energy principles and the project will integrate over four gigawatts of renewable solar, wind and storage power. It will produce green ammonia for export to global markets. The project is scheduled to be onstream in 2026.

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Director role is accountable for setting the strategy for all Information Technology enablement required by NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC). This includes the establishment and management of an IT organization, vendor partnerships, IT processes, Governance and enabling infrastructure, cybersecurity and application services. Technology services include, but are not limited to networks, personal computing, communications, collaboration, cybersecurity and applications (incl. ERP).

NATURE & SCOPE

The IT Director is accountable for IT Strategy of the NGHC, the establishment and management of the NGHC IT organization and processes and infrastructure.

  • This position is part of the NGHC executive leadership team.
  • This position is anticipated to lead an organization of 8-10 employees and multiple vendors providing technology and support services.
  • This position also oversees the administrative facilities management for the company.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

General

  • Provide strategy to guide and enable the build out of all IT technologies necessary for the business to operate and grow – establish strategy / in partnership with Air Products
  • Establish vendor / partner relationships for delivering IT services and technologies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable National and Local laws and regulations
  • Adhere to company policies as described in employment handbook and company work rules
  • Evaluate, acquire and retain great talent; interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees
  • Directly supervise employees by carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s leadership philosophy, policies, and applicable laws
  • Align and optimize the growth of the business
  • Perform high level decision making
  • Create an environment that promotes high performance and positive morale
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the department and between departments
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills
  • Exhibit outstanding interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Information Technology

  • Establish, deliver and own the IT strategy – people, process and technology
  • Own all layers of IT enablement – infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications
  • Experience with in-region IT technology and service providers
  • Responsible for overseeing vendor management relations utilized by the company in conjunction with supporting the information systems and ensuring services are delivered per service level agreements and within budget
  • Analyze the needs of different departments and determine ways to meet objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices, to improve the reliability, performance and functionality of products and services
  • Facilitate strategic initiatives, budget management, development, implementation, and maintenance of these systems through Life Cycle Management methodologies
  • Establish departmental goals/metrics and objectives to report progress on a regular basis
  • Develop and implement IT continuity protocols to minimize disruption to operations in the event of a situation deemed an emergency or data loss
  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other needs
  • Establish IT related policies and procedures, including but not limited to, workstation and server management, internet usage, email usage, applications, file access, backups, disaster recovery, antivirus, antispam, general, and specific security issues, and software installation and distribution.
  • Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefits analyses for IT spending and initiatives
  • Provide the role of Project Manager for major projects including establishing/ maintain regular communications and meetings with department heads and staff members regarding project status and timelines and obtaining feedback and input before, during and after project completion
  • Ensure users have available resources regarding technical support for computer and data communication problems
  • Stays abreast of advances in technology

Facilities Management

  • Responsible for directing the design, planning, maintenance, and construction (when necessary) of company administrative facilities and properties
  • Prepare and implement preventative maintenance schedules for the admin facilities
  • Ensure facilities maintenance work follows safety standards, conforms to specifications, work orders are tracked and completed within budgeted guidelines.

People Management

  • Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, formal annual appraisals, and development plans, with particular emphasis on the development of talented Saudi national staff.
  • Ensures and facilitates the employment, training, and development of Saudi nationals within the organization.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems

MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR JOB ROLE

  • 12 years of IT experience in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

  • LOCATION OF TRAVEL:Mainly within Saudi Arabia, GCC, some international travel

SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:

  • Experience with definition, design, implementation and support of Information Technology architecture, infrastructure, cyber security and applications (including ERP)
  • Experience with KSA IT and Cybersecurity rules and regulations.
  • Experience with KSA IT suppliers and services
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
