Job Description and Qualifications

Conducts complex commercial discussions for goods, services, or equipment often concluding them with the support of a more experienced team member if required. Is able to independently identify opportunities for leverage among suppliers and can use these to develop negotiating tactics. Is trained on the 7 Step Sourcing process or similar and can perform key activities within the process. Demonstrates proficiency, beyond the basics, in systems and tools to complete assigned activities.

Understands the business position of suppliers and the marketplace conditions which pertain to their products or services. Has a basic understanding of the principles of currency hedging and is experienced in involving the credit department and the Treasury Department when needed. Actively enhancing skill set to understand business exposure and solutions in contracts and PO management to ensure risks are adequately covered. Clear understanding of stakeholder engagement for deliverables and ability to work across functions to ensure sourcing and contract placement is undertaken in alignment with processes and procedures. Good commercial and contract acumen.

Shows good judgement and initiative to involve others in decision making, able to work with limited direct supervision, but needs frequent interaction. Able to make self-assessments of skills and identify areas for improvement. Demonstrates ability to concurrently plan, organize, and control multiple work assignments. Excellent communication skills across peer groups and stakeholders. Understands priorities, deliverables and quality of contracts placed. Understands mentoring / coaching goals and follows up on requirements and competency development.

MRICS / MCIPS qualified preferred.
