Responsible for supervising all of the Well Operations activities including well intervention, stimulation and well testing operations, to be carried out on ADNOC Offshore installations, both offshore and on artificial islands. To work and maintain close coordination with the Well Operations Engineering Team, and interdepartmental stakeholders as well as with Contractor's personnel, to ensure the safe and successful implementation and execution of all well operations programs. The Well Operation supervisor will actively mentor and coach junior employees as per the ADNOC Youth Development Program (YDP).
JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Executes and delivers all well operations in a safe and efficient manner following company HSE policies and ensures that subordinates, including contractor personnel are aware of and comply with Company's HSE procedures, rules and regulations by demonstrating HSE leadership to the workforce.
Supervises and coordinates the activities of service Company's personnel involved in the provision of technical services and operations including but not limited to:
Slick line, electric line, coiled tubing, stimulation, well clean-up and production testing operations including barrier installation and retrieval, through tubing fishing, production logging and perforating, well integrity diagnostics, zonal isolation, water / gas shut-off, scale removal and inhibition, surface and bottom hole sampling, well head repairs and any associated Well operations that may be carried out during the life cycle of a well.
Ensures that all Well Operation activities are undertaken by:
Coordinate and lead onsite Risk Assessments related to your area of responsibility.
Thorough review of the procedures developed by the Well Engineer.
Participation in all planning meetings and provide input to intervention programs & operations.
Ensure required resources including personnel, materials and equipment on site for safe and efficient execution of work scope.
Ensure that all Service Company's crew understand the tasks at hand and understand any risk associated with executing the procedures.
Maintain a culture of continuous improvement / enhancement by incorporating after action reviews and lessons learned.
Accurate and timely reporting of well operation activities by monitoring the execution of related programs and progress review.
Prepares daily progress reports including operations, materials & costs, personnel and equipment movements.
Controls and ensures the safe and economic utilization / consumption of company supplied equipment and materials.
Ensures the safe and timely return of equipment and surplus materials to company's stores upon completion of related operations.
Safeguards any re-useable salvaged equipment from worked over well (Wellhead, trees, etc.), and avail them to the production unit.
Coordinates with relevant departments for the manufacturing and or procurement of equipment such as crossovers, adaptors and specialized equipment to carry out the work.
Liaises with field production supervisor for well site inspection and handover activities.
Validates invoices related to work carried out on company installations.
Visits next towers / work sites and reports findings to Well Operations Team leader.
Provides administrative support, such as accommodation and transportation, for the personnel and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Minimum of Engineering Bachelor degree. Preference will be given to degree holders in relevant discipline such as Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years experience for Engineering degree holding candidates or 15 years for High School Diploma holding candidates in relevant Well operations in supervisory role with an emphasis on land-based and barge-based operations.
Knowledge and experience in extended reach intervention applications (ERD).
Supervisory level well control certification (IWCF Well Intervention or equivalent for example).
Sound decision making skills.
Strong technical, operations organizational and planning ability.
Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
Willingness and ability to coach more junior staff whose native language is not English.
Self-motivated, with strong communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Safety Training
Offshore Survival certificate (preferred)
IWCF Well Intervention certification (preferred).
Membership of Leading Petroleum/Drilling Societies an advantage.
