Develops mandatory occupational safety and health requirements applicable to the workplaces .
• Supports in setting up field enforcement procedures, and issue technical interpretations of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
• Assists in developing and issuing occupational health and safety standards to protect workers from health hazards associated with toxic chemicals, biological hazards, and harmful physical agents.
• Conducts qualitative and quantitative workplace exposure assessment using the approved methodologies and equipment.
• Evaluates jobs for potential health hazards and assess the risk of exposure to potential hazards
• Anticipates, recognizes, evaluates, and recommends controls for potential hazards that can affect the health and well-being of workers.
• Supports investigation of the suspected work-related illness cases and advise on the level of exposure to chemical, physical, ergonomics, psychosocial and other work-related hazards.
• Develops and implements Industrial Hygiene programs to prevent and minimize exposure to work-related Health hazards (Physical, Chemical, Biological, Ergonomic and Psycho-Social).
• Implement IH functions: Air monitoring, Biological Monitoring / Medical Surveillance, Radiation Safety, Audiometric Testing, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, and maintain required records
• Demonstrate technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide support to team members including litigation support, analysis, and interpretation of exposure data and exposure methodologies
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
