We are currently recruiting for a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our Student Support Services Department at CIS Abu Dhabi.

The main role and responsibilities of this job include:

Assessing and recording children's needs and progress.
Helping students to cope with and overcome problems that arise because of impairments or learning difficulties.
Developing and fostering the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of students.
Encouraging students to develop self-confidence and independence, and to reach their potential.
Setting specific, time-related targets for each child and liaising with parents and education professionals.
Teaching the children, either in a separate room or within a group of students with needs.
Advising class teachers about adapting the curriculum, teaching strategies, suitable textbooks, information technology and software and other related matters.
Meeting and advising parents.
Liaising with other professionals such as our behavior therapist and speech and language therapist.
Adapting conventional teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Using audio-visual materials and computers to stimulate interest and learning.
Planning and delivering lessons, setting and marking assignments.

Education & Experience:

Applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree in Education with a focus on SEN.
Preferably have at least 2 years experience but new graduates are also welcome to apply.
