Overview:
IBTCI is seeking an experienced Monitoring Reports Reviewer to support the Yemen Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Project (YMELP), a USAID third-party monitoring (TPM) and verification contract based in Amman, Jordan. The purpose of this contract is to monitor USAID humanitarian assistance and verify and provide independent confirmation of humanitarian aid programs in Yemen.
Responsibilities
Scope of Work:
Utilize the data quality review checklist, report templates, project award documentation, and activity information, in the review of completed monitoring reports to ensure reports are well-written, and that content and context is accurate, comprehensive, complete, and without gaps or inconsistencies in its presentation, in addition to complying to the required report format;
Coordinate with Implementing Partners (IPs) and/or subcontractors to address concerns raised within the report review cycle, prior to submitting reports for further review by YMELP personnel;
On a monthly basis, and based on the reviewed site monitoring reports, summarize areas for improvement for each IP and subcontractor, as part of a learning and capacity building agenda;
Perform the necessary review of reports within each report review cycle in a timely manner, diligently respecting deadlines; and,
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Chief of Party (COP) and/or DCOP.
Serve in the above consultant capacity to support the IBTCI technical practices of Crisis, Conflict & Governance, Agriculture & Food Security & Economic, Education & Growth and Global Health and/or Business Development divisions.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Ten years of relevant professional work experience in monitoring and evaluation, and/or humanitarian project implementation;
Work experience in humanitarian and development projects in Yemen is preferred;
Excellent MS Word and MS Excel skills are essential; and,
Excellent command of English and Arabic.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, economics, business/business administration, English, or a related field.
Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with USAID projects and deliverables is preferred;
Experience with humanitarian emergency response programs in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security, health, nutrition, and/or livelihoods sector is preferred;
Demonstrable skills in in report writing, editing, formatting, and presentation is essential;
A high degree of motivation and self-starter qualities is invaluable to the role, supporting the YMELP COP and DCOP with limited oversight and direction; and,
* Demonstrable ability to work independently and in team settings
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
