Medical Equipment Engineering Specialist
Scope of Work:
- Interpret functionality of equipment from bids received to inform USAID Local Health System Sustainability's Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC).
- Participate in the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) – as a voting member – and work on technically evaluating received proposals based on the pre-established evaluation criteria.
- Act as a resource for the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) to address technically specific questions and provide any needed clarifications on functionality of different models of medical equipment.
- Review the Purchase Orders prior to submittal to selected vendor to advise on the language to include in the purchase order to ensure that equipment procured will serve all needs of end user.
- Coordinate with the Grants and Procurement Manager and advise on any questions on placement, set-up, or use of equipment during installation and user training.
Approved LOE: 10 days
Period of Performance: October 15, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022
Qualifications:
- A University degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
- At least (10) years professional experience in medical equipment specifications and procurement for hospitals including installation, large scale maintenance of biomedical and hospital equipment (patient ventilators, monitors, oxygen concentrators, central oxygen supply setups, etc.).
- Understanding healthcare technology management requirements, such as maintenance, repair, and user assistance for medical equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of clinical safety requirements, regulations, and standards as related to medical equipment technology.
- Experience in field service in the critical care unit medical equipment
- Good Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Language requirement; Excellent Knowledge of Arabic and English
- Applicant should not have participated in the assessment process for this procurement
Reporting
The consultant will report to the Finance & Administration Director.
