We're looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and smart engineer to work on the maintenance of existing products and development of new solutions for Oracle Linux and other Oracle products. This person will be responsible for the development and support of Linux userspace packages, development of fixes and new features, as well as design and implementation of new complex solutions. Additionally this position offers a chance to work with Linux community, including upsream developers. In exchange, we can offer a chance to take part in the development of world-leading products, skills improving job, diverse and distributed team of motivated, experienced and smart colleagues, high level of impact on the product, recognition of the achievements, competitive salary and benefits.Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES: – Maintain and develop open source-based products- Work with internal Oracle teams and open source communities on improvements and optimizations of Linux userspace components- Engage different internal teams to work in collaboration to deliver and develop new opensource-based products- Debug complex issues and provide solutions to address them QUALIFICATIONS:- Strong technical background- in-depth understanding of Linux OS internals and boot- DevOps, Software Development or Q/A- C/C++ programming experience- Or Python programming experience- shell scripting knowledge- troubleshooting skills- experience with Linux software package management systems is a plus- good knowledge of cloud and container technologies is a big plus- Open Source development experience is a big plus Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will use basic knowledge of software architecture to perform tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture. Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. Gaining competence in own area and acquiring a higher level understanding of role, processes and procedures. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 0-2 years of previous software engineering or related experience.As part of Oracle's employment process candidates will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment screening process.
