Legal Director (Fixed term contract)
Job Description
- Reporting to the VP of Legal and GC
- Form effective relationships with other department leaders
- Form strategies to enhance the legal function and efficiency of the team
- General commercial drafting (service, supply, consultancy, framework, settlement, NDAs, novation, sponsorship and management agreements)
- Drafting leases and licenses and minor works construction agreements
- Managing insurance related matters
- Reviewing and advising upon due diligence and corporate governance matters
- General advisory role across all functions, including
- Preparing corporate documents
- Creating reports to advise the company on legal risk/report on strategy
- Managing external legal counsel
- Managing claims/potential litigation including IP infringement
- Liaising with the Procurement department to set strategy
- Participating in projects
- Review of company policies
Essential:
- LLB, JD or equivalent
- Admitted as a lawyer/solicitor in UAE or another jurisdiction
- At least 5 to 7 years PQE (post-qualification experience), or equivalent
- At least 2 years in-house, in a commercial environment in UAE
Desirable:
- Post graduate diploma
- LLM
- Previous experience of managing a legal function in house
