Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, the incumbent is responsible for helping to execute and facilitate campus events. The incumbent will work closely with the Director of Student Engagement to assist with coordinating campus events and activities. The Coordinator of Campus Events and Activities will create and maintain communications for upcoming events, and coordinate with the marketing team to ensure these events are broadcast to the entire AIU community. The incumbent will assist in supervising activities on campus and play a key role in planning for special activities. The Campus Events and Activities Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to facilitate engaging, educational events such as seminars, workshops, forums, discussions, fairs, concerts and more.
– Prepare, supervise and document campus programs and activities designed by the Director of Student Engagement.
– Coordinate with other departments to facilitate safe and engaging activities on campus
– Oversee and coordinate cross-departmental requests related to events on campus
– Maintain accurate financial records related to on campus activities
– Assist the Director of Student Engagement in the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation activities and Welcome Week activities
– Establish a campus activities committee and oversee student-led campus activities committee meetings
– Assist with matters related to the OSE calendar and overall event scheduling process
– Actively support campus student engagement initiatives
– Supervise game room and PC room activities and oversee game room student employees
– Partner with members of the AIU community to create and carry-out engaging and enriching activities
– Coordinate with vendors to get quotations for various events and activities
– Develop and manage innovative programs, including speaker series, conferences, panels, and workshops
– Identify and implement new ways to use various platforms including social media and the AIU website for student engagement purposes
– Serve on a variety of university planning committees
– Support student-led programming efforts
– Assist with special projects, committees, and other responsibilities as needed.
Skills:

Excellent critical thinking and listening skills.

Ability to be flexible and proactive

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Excellent planning and organizational skills and proficiency in multitasking

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students and manage student activities

Attention to detail
Experience and Education:

Bachelor's degree required ; Master’s degree is preferred.
* Demonstrated project management experience
