The Catalyzing cheetah conservation through law enforcement and demand reduction efforts in the Arabian Peninsula Project is a five year initiative developed by IFAW in partnership with the Saudi National Center for Wildlife (NCW) and the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Funding was awarded in September of 2022 for an initial period of two years with extensions to follow.
The purpose of the project is to address the trafficking of cheetahs and other big cat species into Saudi Arabia, through a combination of law enforcement and social behavior change communications related interventions designed to boost the capacity of the NCW and other Saudi agencies and address the demand for such animals by Saudi based consumers.
Reporting to the Middle East and North Africa Regional Director and with support from a Project Steering Commitee, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of the project and the associated management and administration of the USFWS funding. The position will be supported by IFAW's Wildlife Crime Program team and by colleagues from Program Operations, Finance and Communication.
