Mainframe Migration Project Manager

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Leads customer engagement to ensure that it meets all scope, time, budget and quality expectations, through planning, controlling and managing customer projects. Manages corporate, customer and third party vendor efforts to plan, sell and implement solutions to customer problems. Responsible for business as well as team management.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

Required profile:

Experienced Project Manager with proven experience in managing large and complex, multi-M$ projects
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to create a trusted customer relationship
Management of third parties to contract
Stakeholder management (internal and customer)
Cost management and cost awareness is a job requirement
Experienced in managing international/remote delivery organizations
Basic Knowledge of Mainframe and Open System Technologies
Knowledge in Test Management
Experience in Migration Projects

Required experience and qualifications

Project management Certification – Ideally: PMP certification
Project Management Experience: 7+ years’ experience; 3+ projects
Experience in Project management Tools
Experience of Agile/Scaled Agile methodology is a pré
Experience in Project Finances.
Good command of English
Spanish language skills are a pré

Managing the project scope under CoE responsibility
- Scope Mgmt
- Cost Mgmt
- Schedue Mgmt
Communication Mgmt (incl. Reporting)
Resource Mgmt
- Onboarding of new joiners
- Mgmt of 3P
Risk Mgmt
Document management (make sure all project documentation is properly stored in all corresponding repositories)
Improvement and unification of internal processes

Education Requirement:

4 year university degree or above
