Project Officer

BACKGROUND

Founded in 2008 in Amman-Jordan, Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) is a Civil Society Organization seeking to reinitiate a new Nahda (Arab Renaissance) project to contribute in addressing the challenges faced by the Arab World, building on the achievements and ideas of the Arab Nahda and aiming to open the doors for future participation in formulating concrete actions to achieve the desired change and development. ARDD supports marginalized individuals and communities—including refugees and migrants— in acquiring and enjoying their social, political and economic rights, through legal aid, psychosocial support, media and grassroots mobilization, and research and advocacy to raise stakeholders’ awareness locally, regionally and internationally about the challenges that vulnerable persons face in Jordan and the Arab Region.

Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) is looking for a Project Officer to support and contribute in executing a project of designing a leadership capacity building program for women in Jordan.

The project Officer is expected to carry out the following

·Contribute to implementing the project plan, such as; supporting the consultants and project manager in assessments, analysis, data gathering, arranging for meetings/visits/focus groups, preparing templates/documents/reports and others as requested.

·Report on project plan progress to Project Manager: narrative, data, statistics, progress and others as needed.

·Coordinate between the multi stakeholders involved in the project and keep all abreast of any developments.

In particular, the coordinator will be responsible for:

Planning

  • Regularly liaise with the Project Manager to plan implementation in project sites and ensure the overall project timeline is realistic and achievable within the agreed timeframe and make adjustments as needed during implementation.
  • Facilitate the development and scheduling of project activities under the direct technical supervision of the Project Manager and in collaboration with the project partners .
  • Actively contribute to the updating of the project implementation plan.

Project Implementation generation decent and creation of sustainable jobs

  • Support in the mapping, needs assessments, benchmark analysis and gap analysis of the project through documentation, searching, coordinating, arranging and attend meetings, arrange for focus groups, etc.
  • Conduct all the needed searches under the project, such as searching for suppliers, service providers, frameworks, best practices, recourses, list of targeted audience, list of targeted programs,,etc.
  • Support in developing the stakeholder mapping in liaison with the Project Manager.
  • Identify/map and establish necessary agreements, MoUs, and other needs with relevant stakeholders as per the project needs.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, priorities and constraints and assist with the administrative duties pertinent to project implementation
  • Ensure all activities are completed with quality and within the agreed upon timeframe with the Project Manager while raising any concerns as applicable.
  • Produce and submit monthly reports on project activities as required and maintain/review project documentation as required.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability and Learning

  • Ensure that the M&E systems are effectively implemented in each project site, and its tools are in place. This includes the systematic implementation and follow-up on agreed technical quality benchmarks, in liaison with ARDD’s M&E staff.
  • Actively monitor project activities at field level to ensure quality and compliance with best practice, and report/flag any concerns to Project Manager.
  • Actively support the development and implementation of an effective Accountability Mechanism of the project (/partner), with the focus on a) Adequate information sharing, b) Complaints and Feedback Mechanism and c) Safe, Meaningful and Ethical Participation, in collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.
  • Perform other responsibilities as agreed with the Project Manager.

Candidates interested in applying should:

·Have a university first degree in Business Administration or Social Sciences, or other related disciplines

·At least 3 years’ experience with NGOs, INGOs, or funded projects; having experience in USAID projects is plus.

·At least 3 years’ experience in training coordination and management.

·Excellent English/Arabic language skills (Writing and conversation);

·Willing to visit the location and field visits (within all governorates) on regular basis.
