IV Supervision |
|
Title of supervisor: Head of Vulnerability, Analysis and Mapping Unit (VAM Officer) |
|
The JPO will work under the overall guidance of the Head of Programme. The JPO will be directly supervised by the Head of VAM facilitating linkages between the JPO and key positions in the COs, as well as to other relevant initiatives / insight relevant to the success of this role. |

V Required Qualifications and Experience |
|
Education: Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in Economics, Food Security, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health/Nutrition, Geography or other related field. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in combination with qualifying experience (at least 3 years of relevant working experience) may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. WFP Somalia’s Country Strategic Plan 2022-2025 focuses on strengthening resilience of communities, recognizing the interconnected nature of relief, nutrition, safety nets, food systems, capacity strengthening and partnerships, addressing some of the above causes within the context of chronic drought and frequent climate-related shocks. The Country Strategic Plan will fulfil its humanitarian mandate and sustainably move affected populations onto a resilience path through five fully integrated and interrelated strategic outcomes (SO) that span both Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 17: WFP works with a range of actors to deliver efficient, effective and equitable assistance, including through provision of quality assessments based on evidence-based analysis to inform policy, programme and initiatives at the national, state and district levels in Somalia. The VAM Unit is a technical information and decision support service for WFP, the government and partners. The unit aims to provide high quality, timely and effective information to support and inform operational decision-making, well designed and better targeted programmes. |
