YOUR TASKS:

  • . Tactically plan daily export shipments, product selection, assigning job to relevant control tower planning function e.g. Express, Freight etc.
    . Makes associations and connections that lead to problem prevention, recognition, or resolution.
    . Ensure all orders planned are scheduled centrally using planning solution system.
    . Follows up with customers on promises until problem is resolved and customer is satisfied.
    . Build and maintain strong working relationships with the customer and all relevant parties within Control Tower function to ensure all targets are met
    . Ensure compliance with standard operating procedure, local customs and local government body and hazardous goods requirements
    . To monitor, analyse, and evaluate the system and it's operational performance, recommending future improvements
    . To plan customer shipments day to day routings where possible, but maintaining the required transit time
    . Increase DHL revenues by utilising DHL Express services where appropriate
    . Act as a CT focal point of contact between customer and all relevant functions within Control Tower e.g. Logistics, KAD, Operations, Gateway & Freight
    . Ensure all planning is executed within parameters of customer services levels
    . Achievement of operational performance as defined by customer contract and KPIs
    . Create a culture of continuous improvement in routing and scheduling activities to ensure cost down targets are met
    . Effective and efficient commuincation with customer as a bridge between DHL & customer
    . Work closely with the Control Tower Manager to ensure that all operational changes are implemented effectively

YOUR PROFILE:
. A College graduate, with a comprehensive working knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
. Excellent communication skills.
. Ability to demonstrate logical thinking
. Strong and effective organising, planning and process work methods.
. International freight experience desirable.
. Tactical planning & operational experience in Control Tower planning operations and multi modal transport operations (Road, Air & Sea) is a plus
. Knowledge of DHL systems specifically TMS & OTM is a plus.
