Jobs at this level are responsible for supervising STC’s medium budget and/or medium risk non – technical projects with respect to time and project schedules. Also, they are responsible for managing projects undertaken by external consulting firms and ensuring effective handover of projects to relevant departments, in compliance with consulting agreement.
• Coordinate across a number of work units within the specified area of work, to ensure efficient work flows and accurate outputs.
• Manage projects and initiatives, as may be required by the reporting senior managers.
• Supervise internal process improvement related projects and initiatives, as may be required by the reporting senior managers.
• Supervise implementation of new outlets, refurbishing existing outlets including logistical/technical requirements (in coordination with procurement) to ensure all requirements are met to activate the outlet.
• Ensure that necessary project management reports and analyses are available on time for decision making purposes.
• Manage medium budget and/or medium risk projects and initiatives, in compliance with established project management policies and procedures.
• Manage the routine project management activities of high budget and/or high risk non – technical projects within a specified scope, under the guidance of immediate senior.
• Contribute in the preparation of budgets for assigned STC’s projects and ensures that the project implementation is in compliance with established budgets.
• Contribute in articulating comprehensive project plans for medium budget and/or medium risk non – technical projects and develops effective project scope, objectives and processes.
• Coordinate with relevant Vice Presidents, Directors and appropriate Managers in matters related to project progress review and participates in articulating effective communication strategies.
• Identify project scope changes, re – sequences project components, plans changes and ensures effective communication of the same to all concerned.
• Contribute in developing and delivering timely messages to communicate project plan and project scope changes to relevant Sectors.
• Monitor performance of external consulting firms and coordinates with relevant departments to update the progress of project work undertaken by these firms.
• Assess the health of select running projects against schedules, budgets and objectives, reporting status to immediate seniors on a regular basis and highlighting variations from schedule or budget, if any.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer related to projects from external consulting firms and ensures that all the deliverables are in compliance with internal/external client expectations.
• Coordinate with relevant Sectors in matters related to consulting contract management and provides inputs to the relevant departments for required action e.g. invoice generation, vendor/contractor payment etc.
• Support in identifying risks affecting STC’s assigned non – technical projects and assists in articulating effective mitigation strategies to address identified risks, in compliance with established standards and best practices.
• Review all standard project management templates developed by the reporting team and ensures effective project controls in STC across the project lifecycle including initiation, execution and close – out.
• Ensure effective resolution of queries related to project management standardization, in order to enhance STC customer satisfaction.
• Maintain up – to – date knowledge of project management trends in the market and regularly coordinates with external agencies to understand capabilities of relevant consulting firms.
• Liaise with other supervisors to build effective working relationships and identifies synergies.
• Supervise work teams, if needed, to ensure work continuity.
• Develop and supervise respective team members, if needed, for undertaking higher responsibilities.
