Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for participating in the development and communication of technology systems security policies, processes and procedures and ensuring compliance to relevant procedural/legislative requirements. Also, they are responsible for analysing new and emerging technologies, escalating major problems and monitoring STC’s quantified risk exposure to address system inadequacies.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine activities within the specified scope.
• Participate in the development, implementation and communication of technology systems security policies, processes and procedures and ensures compliance to relevant procedural/legislative requirements.
• Contribute to the development of technology systems security budget and monitors financial performance to ensure alignment with the budget.
• Analyse potential risks (both internal and external) and operational scenarios that may damage STC’s operations, establishes key priorities and develops proposals for protecting STC’s technology systems environment.
• Participate in contingency plans and assists in the implementation of BC/DR (Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery) project phases (planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing).
• Escalate major problems to the appropriate department or section and ensures follow up and resolution in a timely manner.
• Manage systems to measure, report and monitor an enterprise view of aggregated, quantified risk exposure to address system inadequacies and ensure business continuity.
• Support operations, maintenance, administration of all security systems in line with defined policies and procedures.
• Analyse new systems, components, products etc. for security protection and comments on their applicability within STC.
• Support users on technology security matters across sectors and contributes towards creating security awareness throughout STC.
• Help with routine work and escalates issues, as necessary.
• Liaise within the assigned team to build effective working relationships.
