Head of Infrastructure and Support

Job Description

Our client a Finance company based in Abu Dhabi is looking for an Infrastructure & Support Manager for a Permanent Contract.
Responsabilities :

• Provide guidance and support for the effective cascading of the functional strategy into department business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.
• Provide subject matter expertise, advice, and share knowledge with the team members to support their overall development.
• Promote the organization's values and ethics in all activities within the team to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the organization.
• Lead the effective implementation of Infrastructure & Technical support department, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
• Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
• Ensure that all reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet requirements, policies, and quality standards.

Infrastructure Management :

• Lead and direct the provisioning and maintenance of appropriate technologies and ensure they are consistent and aligned to business requirements and strategies.
• Collaborate with senior management in the development of strategies, specifying requirements, assist in feasibility studies to identify benefits of alternative strategies, and producing strategic models of the organization's information and communications needs and highlighting the potential risks and impacts of those strategies.
• Lead the provision of technical expertise during the identification, architectural design, and development of existing and new infrastructure solutions to support the organization's technological needs.
• Oversee enhancements of the IT Infrastructure services, through ongoing analysis of servers, storages, data storage and backups, to ensure effective infrastructure capacity and availability.
• Plan and execute technology changes based on the changing business requirement while ensuring informed decision-making so that an appropriate balance between benefits, opportunities, costs, and risks related to the suggested technology can be demonstrated to stakeholders.
• Ensure the capacity and availability of the infrastructure at all times (as per SLA) and ensure high levels of IT security
• Ensure that organization's systems and infrastructure provide the up-time based on industry standards and aligned with the business continuity requirements.
• Participate in performing quality assurance activities related to the performance of IT solutions, review and provide reports regularly on application performance.
• Lead and direct the consistent review and analysis of the infrastructure logs, to ensure service sustainability and high performance for the business.
• Manage and maintain an updated inventory of physical and virtual assets for infrastructure components, to ensure availability of fit-for-purpose assets, to meet the group's needs.
• Maintain a robust and secure network and system environment to optimize the management of the existing Data Centres.

Infrastructure Integration & Optimization :

• Ensure optimal execution against the Infrastructure Integration Plan of the organization, to build a single integrated infrastructure.
• Lead the adoption of new technologies, to enhance customer experience through optimum support, while ensuring that IT solutions are in line with industry standards.
• Lead the documentation and standardization of existing and new infrastructure processes to ensure appropriate use and maintenance of the infrastructure.

Relationship Management :

• Lead the effective coordination of operational infrastructure changes/updates with internal stakeholders and external vendors, as required, to ensure all changes/ updates are implemented effectively.
• Maintain relationships with contractors and vendors and review their performance periodically to ensure that organization receives high quality IT services in accordance with defined SLAs.
• Support Contracts & vendors team in negotiations with vendors for renewal of existing contracts of different types as well as for new agreements, ensuring technical aspects are well covered and vendors adhere to them going forward.
• Evaluate and recommend supplier's proposal received against RFQ/RFP's and assist procurement in selecting fit for purpose, cost effective solutions.

Risk Mitigation:

• Establish and evaluate infrastructure related risks and propose appropriate mitigation plans associated with new architecture, applications, upgrades, etc.
• Ensure close collaboration with the IT Security team, to validate the ideas that impacts Infrastructure.
