Child protection is the prevention of and response to abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence against children. Child protection case management is the process of helping individual children and families through direct social-work-type support, and managing information well. Within child protection case management, there should be appropriate involvement of children throughout the process, as well as full consideration of the best interests of the child.
IMC is implementing a pilot project to address the knowledge gap in relation to child marriage and provide an evidence base for current and future programming to improve the safety and wellbeing of girls impacted by child marriage. The project aims to increased understanding of child marriage in Jordan including root causes, perceptions and behaviors, mitigation measures and needs of girls affected by early marriage. In addition, it will also help increasing access for girls (and boys) affected by child marriage to a range of services as needed in a way to ensure their safety and wellbeing. The CP Consultant will closely work with the pilot project team to reach the intended outputs, monitor, and analyze the available generated data and is sought to develop a comprehensive project report. The consultant would also provide support and mentoring for the program officer in-charge to implement the pilot project for three months period. The consultant is expected to work for three months, starting on Oct 1st, 2022 until the end of 2022.
Essential Duties and Responsibility
Review the project document, previous relevant assessments, and reports.
Review existing data collection tools and conduct data quality regular check. Provide recommendation to the implementation team accordingly to ensure quality data is being generated.
Working closely with the field team to ensure that the day-to-day data collection activities are carried out and data quality is maintained throughout the process. Following a strict code of ethics and always protecting any confidential information.
Research, analyze, interpret, monitor, and review information and data from regular and wide variety of sources for reporting.
Consolidate and verify data (ex. by identifying and obtaining supporting documents) collected by the pilot implementation team and integrate the data into the final report as needed.
Provide technical support to the program officer in identifying and settling challenges, documenting issues, any lessons learned, and challenges which affected the implementation or impacted the outcome.
Support the project team in any meetings to follow up on the progress of implementation.
Finalize the
Education and experience:
Master’s Degree in social science or relevant field
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Knowledge in child protection specifically in early marriage concern
Knowledge and experience in performing similar consultancies and drafting reports.
Understanding and knowledge of the Child Protection sector.
Experience working with INGO and in government system is preferable
Language requirements
Proficiency in spoken and written both Arabic and English language

– Draft report including background and methodology/approach (By Nov 1st)
– Draft report with discussion/key findings (December 2022)
– Draft final report with project outcomes, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations (By 20th of December 2022).
– Present the final report after addressing the team members inputs and comments (By the 28th of December 2022).
